On Tuesday 29 May, the Uniting Church in Australia started 40 days of prayer to lead up to the 15th Assembly meeting. This week’s reflection features the first and second of these prayers (29 & 30 May).
Reflection of the week
Posted in Faith
God is calling. The Spirit drawing. Jesus saving. Us proclaiming. It’s time to let your spirit cry the prayer. The Holy Spirit prays, as God’s heart reveals a plan for this time.
Loving God, by your Spirit you made all things, all people, every nation, group and language. Pour out your Spirit in our day. Reveal your power. Heal the land in Jesus' name. Strengthen Australian Indigenous leaders today – strengthen them with hope, courage and fearlessness.
Move us to gather in one place, to be filled by one Spirit, to worship Jesus as the one Lord, as children of one God and people of one blood.
Make us spiritual – deeply spiritual. Make us practical – profoundly practical. Make us generous – always generous.
For the glory of your name, Jesus. Amen.
