Reflection of the week

On my way to worship, I see some fine examples of private dwellings and public buildings. Others have succumbed to demolition to make way for newer, but often less appealing architecture. Outside of town, there is a plaque marking a spot where a church once stood. Most of the people who worshipped there are now gone too.

In Luke 21:5, when Jesus predicted the future of Jerusalem, he warned his listeners of the destruction of the temple; the place they had been admiring for its beauty and grandeur. They misunderstood the true nature of God in Christ.

I am reminded that the Spirit of God can’t be contained in the building where I worship, or any other structure.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, everlasting God, refresh in me, a sense of your eternal presence, housed in my heart. Amen.

Safe Church Screening

It’s nearly 5 years since the introduction of the Working With Childrens Check (WWCC) became a minimum requirement for those with roles of responsibility within the life of the church.

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?
