Refugee and Migrant Sunday

Refugee and Migrant Sunday is a celebration of the dignity of people who are refugees and migrants and the contribution they have made to life in Australia. Living Water Men’s Conference 2017

The annual Living Water Men's Conference will take place at Emmaus Campsite and Halbury Oval from 6-8 October in 2017. This year, the conference will welcome Craig Bailey as the keynote speaker.

Every year approximately 250 men gather from all walks of life for a great weekend of worship, fellowship and encouragement. It's hosted by the local churches of Balaklava and is a Christ-focussed, non-denominational Christian men's event. This is a great opportunity to encourage men, young and old (12 years and upward).

The conference is fully catered, and registration includes dormitory accommodation for up to 40 people supplemented by limitless camping space on the oval. Early bird rates are available until 8 September and are just $95 for the whole weekend. Day registration is also available. Registrations can be made using the details below.

Resthaven wins National Better Practice Award

Resthaven was recently awarded one of two National Better Practice Awards by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency’s (Quality Agency) at a Better Practice Awards Reception event at the Sofitel Sydney.

Better Practice Awards are presented each year for projects, initiatives or programs that act as exemplars for other aged care service providers to assist and to encourage improvement to care and services. The awards recognise and disseminate better practice and innovation across the broad spectrum of aged care services.

The Better Practice Award 2017 was presented for Resthaven’s Wellness and Reablement in Home Care model in the inaugural National Innovation and Excellence in Aged Care awards. Engage Together – intergenerational worship ideas

“Engage Together” is a resource created to provide churches with intergenerational ideas for a call to worship, prayers, songs and Bible readings for worship services during August and September. Although based on the lectionary readings, these ideas can be adapted to suit any Bible/theme focus.

The resource was written and produced in partnership across three Uniting Church Synods, including the Uniting Church SA Intergen Team.

The resource is available to download here: sa.uca.org.au/intergen/church-resources/all-age-worship/
