The date of this meeting was originally Friday 30 June to Saturday 1 July, but has recently been changed to avoid a clash with one of the President's Conferences. Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees – Sunday 9 April
This year, the Uniting Church in South Australia will once again stand alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ in the annual Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees. The gathering will walk from Victoria Square to Parliament House to send a message of hope, solidarity and support for refugees - those already settled in Australian communities, and those seeking asylum in Australia. This year's march has the motto: “More courage, less fear. Close the camps and bring them here.”
An estimated 15,000 people attended the 2016 Palm Sunday Walk for Justice - it is hoped the 2017 gathering will be bigger still! A group will be meeting from 1.30pm at Victoria Square to make placards on the day; cardboard and markers will be supplied. The march will begin at 2pm.
Bring your family, friends and workmates, as well as any banners and signs. All ages welcome.
