June Presbytery & Synod meeting - date change

The June 2017 Presbytery & Synod meeting will take place from Friday 23 to Saturday 24 June. The date of this meeting was originally Friday 30 June to Saturday 1 July, but has recently been changed to avoid a clash with one of the President's Conferences. More information about the meeting will be provided over the coming months. Please direct any queries about the date change to Malcolm Wilson via email at Turn on Javascript!

Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees – Sunday 9 April

This year, the Uniting Church in South Australia will once again stand alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ in the annual Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees. The gathering will walk from Victoria Square to Parliament House to send a message of hope, solidarity and support for refugees - those already settled in Australian communities, and those seeking asylum in Australia. This year's march has the motto: “More courage, less fear. Close the camps and bring them here.”

An estimated 15,000 people attended the 2016 Palm Sunday Walk for Justice - it is hoped the 2017 gathering will be bigger still! A group will be meeting from 1.30pm at Victoria Square to make placards on the day; cardboard and markers will be supplied. The march will begin at 2pm.

Bring your family, friends and workmates, as well as any banners and signs. All ages welcome.

Lenten reflections

Different Uniting Church organisations and ministry centres are offering resourcing opportunities for the Lenten season.

The Uniting Church SA Intergenerational Team has partnered with other Uniting Church Synods to produce an intergenerational Lent resource. Based on the lectionary readings, this resource has ideas that can easily be adapted for different communities and themes. Read more here.

UnitingWorld is offering a number of Lent Event resources for groups to engage with. More information is available here.

Stillpoint Spirituality Centre is offering two opportunities to participate in a day of Lenten reflection on the Beatitudes. The first will be held at Belair Uniting Church on Friday 24 March; the second will take place at Christ Church Wayville on Monday 27 March. More information is available here.

The Centre for Music, Liturgy and the Arts is offering a wide range of Lent and Easter resources - songs, prayers, plays and more. Further information is available here.
