Pancake Day

Your support makes a difference!

In 2017, UnitingCare Glenelg is still feeling the positive impact of the 2016 Pancake Day grant on their community. The Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) model used at UnitingCare Glenelg helps to shape the way they engage with the people around them. ABCD is a way of working with people that looks for what they have to offer (their assets) and how they can use those assets to better their community.

Friendship Café is a UnitingCare Glenelg program which has been a long-term partner with Pancake Day. They serve up a warm meal and lots of friendly conversation with their community. In the ABCD model, people who come to Friendship Café for a meal are now the people who have skills and talents to offer! The sense of ownership and pride has had flow-on effects in UnitingCare Glenelg’s programs, and Pancake Day happily supports that work.

Join us to help raise funds to support programs like UnitingCare Glenelg’s ABCD program! Register to hold a Pancake Day anytime in February or March.

The NCCA has published resources to assist with reflection, prayer, reading and study on this day. These documents represent a collection of some of the wonderful resources that have been gathered from our Churches.
