Gifts for Manus Island

Ruth Harbinson-Gresham, a member of Adelaide West Uniting Church, ran a collection for football boots for people being held in detention on Manus Island earlier in 2016. These boots have since been delivered, and have helped to make a positive impact on the lives of many.

Since the initial collection, the situation on Manus Island has changed. Asylum seekers still face an uncertain future, affecting the outlook of many and exacerbating mental health issues for others. With this in mind, Ruth is now seeking a different way of enriching the lives of people being held in detention – this time by assisting them in caring for small pets and supporting sporting interests. Ruth is looking for boxing gloves, boxing wraps, pet toys (for kittens, puppies and birds), and pet treatments (flea and worm treatments, bird treatments).

If you are interested in getting involved please contact Ruth on 0450 694 844 or email Turn on Javascript!
