NCLS forms delayed

Haven’t received your NCLS forms yet? Don’t panic! There has been a delay in getting the forms to congregations. They are on their way, but are a little later than anticipated. Unfortunately, this delay was beyond our control, but we apologise for any inconvenience.

For those who have not ordered NCLS forms, it’s not too late to get in touch and order some.

All queries and late orders should be directed to Bev Freeman on 8236 4243 or email Turn on Javascript!

Changes to Presbytery & Synod information provided in New Times

On page 5 of the October/November edition of New Times, Rev Nigel Rogers shared details about an evening session to be held from 7-9pm on Friday 4 November. This session will include music and input from Generation Y members (the article erroneously stated that input would be from Generation X).

Additionally, some changes have been made to the electives being offered during the Presbytery and Synod meeting. The first session will run on Thursday evening from 7-9pm and the second will be held on Friday 4 November from 11am-1pm. Electives on church planting and evangelism/discipleship will be run at both times; a leadership elective will be held on the Thursday only, and a mental health elective will be held on the Friday only.

Further updates on the November Presbytery and Synod meeting will be provided on the website and through the “Yapp app” as they become available.

Want to invite the wider community to your Christmas services? The Uniting Church SA website will again provide a space for congregations and faith communities to list details of their Christmas services and events. Didn’t read last week’s “News & notices”? The items below are ones you might want to catch up on.

Called to Care training opportunities

There are a number of Called to Care training sessions being held in October and November. The training educates participants on their legal obligation to report reasonable suspicions and concerns about child abuse and neglect. All church leaders, elders and members of church council are encouraged to participate in training, and to maintain their knowledge in this area.

For more information, please click here or contact the Called to Care Training and Development Officer on 8236 4248 or email Turn on Javascript!

Mental health resource now available

The new Uniting Church SA mental health resource, “Caring for community”, is now available to download here.

The resource was officially launched on Tuesday 4 October at an event and training day held at The Corner Uniting Church. Read more about the resource and launch event here.

New police check forms

All congregations and faith communities are asked to please ensure they are using the latest police check form, available on the Uniting Church SA website here.

It would appear some congregations have a stock of outdated police check forms, which can no longer be accepted after 30 September. If these outdated forms are sent they will be returned to applicants for resubmission.

It is recommended that forms be printed directly from the Uniting Church SA website as required.

Please direct any queries to Peter Harbison on 8236 4282.
