National Police History Check form

As of 1 July 2016 the agency used by the UCSA Screening Unit to carry out National Police History Checks has merged with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission. A new form is now available on the Uniting Church SA website in the Called to Care section. Please commence use of this form immediately (the content is unchanged). Applications already submitted will be processed. Please contact Turn on Javascript! with any questions.

NAIDOC Week (3-9 July) resources

Held annually in the first full week of July, NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture, and to recognise the contributions and achievements of Indigenous Australians in our country and society.

The Uniting Aboriginal Islander and Christian Congress has compiled some worship resources for NAIDOC Week 2016, which can be downloaded here.

 

Red Dove Café – seeking helpers

The 2016 Royal Adelaide Show is from Friday 2 - Sunday 11 September, and Red Dove Café will be open during this time. You're invited to volunteer with this dynamic activity of the Uniting Church, which has been raising funds for SA mission every year since 1951. Morning, afternoon and evening shifts available. Please note: all volunteers require a current Uniting Church background check. Preaching Masterclass: The Power & the Passion

Interested in increasing your preaching skills, learning how to craft an engaging sermon, and increasing confidence? Come along to this course hosted by Seeds Uniting Church and led by Craig Bailey and Rev Tim Hein. Four focussed and highly practical sessions over four weeks – Thursday 11, 18 and 25 August and Thursday 1 September, 7.30pm at Seeds Uniting Church. Chaplaincy with Disaster and Recovery Ministries SA

Disaster and Recovery Ministries SA is coordinated by the Uniting Church and has the mandate under the State Emergency Management Plan to train and deploy chaplains to Relief and Recovery Centres and on outreach visitation in times of disaster, such as bushfires.

Interested people are invited to be trained as chaplains on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 September. The two-day training opportunity will be held at The Corner Uniting Church, and will be led by Rev Dr Stephen Robinson (National Disaster Recovery Officer, Uniting Church in Australia Assembly). There is no cost to participate.

Global Leadership Summit 2016

​Seeds Uniting Church will provide access to the Global Leadership Summit on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October this year. Registrations are open and an early bird offer has been extended until Sunday 31 July. Discounted prices are also available for full time students under the age of 30.
