Below are the news and notices from congregations, the SA Synod and the wider Uniting Church submitted for the Wednesday 1 November edition of UC e-News.
November Presbytery & Synod meeting
It’s now only three weeks until the November Presbytery & Synod meeting, which will be held at Adelaide West Uniting Church from 23-25 November. Reports and other information continue to be added to the website on a regular basis, and can be accessed here.
Congregations and individuals are also invited to submit proposals for consideration at the meeting. The deadline date for proposal submission is Thursday 9 November. Members are asked to ensure they have returned their Intention to Attend.
Prayers for safety and peace
With the recent attack in Manhattan, the 600 refugees who remain on Manus Island without power or supplies, the Rohingya crisis, and the many people dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters, there are many people all over the world struggling with loss, trauma and grief. We pray for safety and peace – safety for those who are in dangerous situations, and peace for war torn regions and families torn apart.

Christmas service details
All congregations and faith communities are invited to share their Christmas service and event details on the Uniting Church SA website. Please list the service dates, times, locations and titles (e.g. Blue Christmas, Carols Service, etc.) and email them to the Communications team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Prayers and reflections
Would you like to share prayers and reflections with the wider Uniting Church SA community? New Times online and UC e-News include a “Reflection of the week” published each Wednesday. The Communications team are fortunate to have several writers who have loyally written reflections in the past, including the insightful Linda Sutton who continues to provide us with new reflections on a regular basis.
The Communications team is currently seeking new writers to provide ad hoc or regular reflections and prayers to be published as the “Reflection of the week”. Items connected to current events within the church or wider community, or those that drawn on a particular Bible passage, will be favoured. For more information or to contribute, please email email@example.com or call 8236 4230.
