Prayer request

Rev Nicholas Rundle has sent through the following prayer request to share with the wider Uniting Church community:

Your prayers are asked for management, staff and patients in the Central Adelaide Local Health Network following the dismissal of the CEO, industrial unrest over staffing and ward closures, and the challenges of transition to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital and changes at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Please also pray for Judy, Nicholas and Mark and their ecumenical colleagues as they walk alongside clinicians and care for patients.

God, our refuge and strength guide and bless the staff serving in Public Hospitals at this time of change. Thank you for the compassion, skill and dedication of teams of people caring for people experiencing illness, vulnerability, loneliness and grief with often limited resources. We pray for grace and wisdom, perseverance and intelligence by all leaders. Strengthen our chaplains and volunteers as they walk beside staff, patients and family as people of the Gospel of Jesus Christ the giver of all healing and the source of truth and integrity in your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lenten study: faith at work

Five studies integrating reflection on the Lenten lectionary gospel readings with the experience of paid work, work in the home, and voluntary work. Each study concludes with a simple ritual and prayer. Deepen your awareness of how your life is formed by your work, and how your faith forms your work. Easter postcard orders – now open!

Orders are open for this year's Easter postcards and posters! This year's theme is "new life, new season":

Jesus said: “I am the resurrection and the life…” (John 11:25)

New life…
At Easter, we reflect on Jesus’ life, death and resurrection – a time of mourning and celebration. On Good Friday, we grieve together as we remember how Jesus died upon the cross and our own role in his suffering. But as Holy Saturday draws to a close and Easter Sunday dawns, we celebrate the resurrection, the rolling away of the stone.
We are reminded that Christ was sent for us and died for us – so that we could be raised into new life with him.
New season…
The Easter story reminds us of the power of God’s enduring love in an ever-changing world.
For our Uniting Church congregations and faith communities, Easter offers an opportunity to be refreshed and enter a new season.

Posters and postcards are a great way for Uniting Church congregations and communities to share the details of their Easter services and events.

Postcard cost: $75 per 1,000 (for smaller amounts, please contact Communications via email at Turn on Javascript!)
Poster cost: $20 for 10 A3 posters (minimum of 10)
Orders close: Monday 27 February

Orders can be placed online at sa.uca.org.au/postcards
