Stop the Traffik Easter campaign

For 10 years, Stop the Traffik has asked chocolate companies and stores to take action in their supply chain to prevent and end the trafficking of children to produce the cocoa that ends up in our chocolate. Things are improving, but there are still changes that need to be made.

After two years of campaigning, Woolworths and Coles have both released policies seeing them sourcing their own branded chocolate products to an internationally recognised standard by 2020. Aldi and Haigh’s were first to provide a fully certified Easter range. Now there will be at least four places for people to source 'traffik-free' chocolate over Easter.

Stop the Traffik is asking supporters to thank stores for their support and to continue to urge Darrell Lea to take steps in relation to their chocolate supply chains. For more information about how to take action in either of these ways, please visit the Stop the Traffik website here or contact any of the stores on social media to share your thoughts.

Intergenerational Worship Ideas for Lent

A resource to assist and inspire churches to adapt elements of a worship liturgy (call to worship, prayers, songs and Bible reading) to be more intergenerational during the season of Lent has recently been made available on the Uniting Church SA website. The resource is based on the lectionary readings but ideas can be adapted to suit any Bible/theme focus. It is available to download here. This resource has been written and produced in partnership across three Uniting Church Synods, including South Australia’s Intergen team.
