Friday nights are always awesome – but few are as amazing as the one over 650 people shared in on 3 June. On this particular Friday night, young people from 20 churches and five denominations gathered at three venues across South Australia to LIVE LIFE LOUD.

“Live Life Loud events have been growing annually. It’s so exciting to see what God is doing across the state in the hearts of young people!” says coordinator Mike Wardrop, reflecting on the night.

The three Live Life Loud events held on Friday 3 June are just the beginning, with three more events to be held at different locations on Friday 18 June.

If the first events are anything to go by, young people can expect nights of inspiration, transformation and community-building. Each of the recent events hosted a powerful speaker, with key quotes including:

“You were called to transform the world, not to trend with it” – Sam Long, Live Life Loud // North

“The faith we have is never enough, but the one we have faith in is more than enough” – Mike Wardrop, Live Life Loud // Eyre Peninsula

“You're a daughter, you’re a son. You’re a saint, you're a servant” – Chad Mansbridge, Live Life Loud // South

“A huge thanks to the churches, leaders and volunteers who have already partnered with us to bless the young people of our state,” says Mike.

“I’d particularly like to thank the welcoming community at the Eyre Peninsula Live Life Loud where I gave the message. We saw over 150 people gather from at least four denominations, coming from locations across the breadth of the Peninsula – some travelling two hours to reach the venue. Of those gathered, 13 young people put up their hands to give their lives to Jesus for the first time.”

Alexander O’Brien also shared his thoughts on the amazing Live Life Loud North event held at The Journey Uniting Church, writing on Facebook:

“Can’t believe what happened on Friday night. 208 people gathered. Over 20 Bibles handed out to people who have never owned one before. 13 different youth groups represented. 5 denominations represented. Unified under the one Christ.”

It’s not too late to get involved in one of these transformative youth events! Live Life Loud will be held at locations in the West, Mid-North and Adelaide Hills regions on Friday 17 June. For more information about speakers, times and locations, please visit the website or Facebook page.

The future of youth events in SA

Several changes are afoot for the traditional Synod-organised, state-wide youth ministry events such as Live Life Loud and SA Youth Camp Out (SAYCO). Tim Littleford explains in this letter.

Stronger than the storm

As the weekend of the South Australian Youth Camp Out drew nearer the wild weather seemed forbidding - but it wasn't enough to stop the camp from going ahead! SAYCO 2016 was a time of worship, fun and life-changing experiences.
