On this special edition of Compass, aired on Sunday 10 April, host Geraldine Doogue was joined by Robert Manne, Anne Henderson, Rod Bower, Peter Kurti and Tim Costello to discuss whether churches should be offering sanctuary to asylum seekers. Coming from a wide variety of backgrounds, the panel conducted an interesting conversation over the legal and moral issues associated with offering sanctuary. Israel and the West Bank, through the eyes of a dozen visitors

The papers deal with a variety of themes and provide significant insights into the challenges faced by the ecumenical movement, and the prospects for its future.

The Conversation

Climate change is an issue high on the Uniting Church SA Environment Action Committee’s list of priorities. This link provides images showing the effect of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef, particularly the ongoing coral bleaching occurring off the north Queensland coast.
