Operation Santa 2017

Youth helping youth doing it tough

10 November 2017

Through the Target and UnitingCare Christmas Appeal each Christmas season, shoppers are encouraged to buy an extra gift while doing their shopping to leave under the Christmas tree in their local Target store (or make a donation). These presents are collected by churches and UnitingCare community service organisations for use with Christmas programs in that particular region. Each year these ‘Target trees’ are filled with wonderful gifts. There continues to be, however, a shortfall in the number of gifts for the teenagers in their programs.

In order to ensure that UnitingCare organisations have enough gifts for teenagers, please join us!

All you need to do is:

  1. Register your group here
  2. Prepare the hearts and minds of your young people
  3. Collect gifts & fundraise for donations to buy presents for teens
  4. Send youth representatives to the State Celebration Event on Friday night 10 November 2017.

Operation Santa Youth Event is an opportunity for you to open the conversation with your group around generosity, simplicity, the gift of giving and the work of their church in action through UnitingCare community service organisations.

Not a youth or youth leader?

Visit the national UnitingCare Christmas Appeal website to learn more about how you can help.

Not in metro Adelaide?

There are UnitingCare community service organisations all over South Australia that would love your support. Please let us know if your group participates in Operation Santa even if you can't make it to the state-wide event. Register here.
