About Us
Finniss is a small farming community approximately 16 km from Strathalbyn, and similar distance from Goolwa. There are some new houses being erected, and properties are changing hands, but despite a friendly approach to all newcomers there is a constant struggle to increase the number of worshippers. We will continue our endeavours, and show by example that being Christian in every day life can be rewarding.
We currently have 6 children attending Sunday School, and having a large building with attached kitchen, there is much scope for expansion.
The Church has been renovated with voluntary labour in recent years, and the leadlight windows donated by various members records their love and dedication to God and the Church, and its people.
The night service on 1st of each month has only recently been discontinued, and we are not giving up hope of restoring or finding a replacement in the meantime, some of us attend Ashbourne Church on the 1st Sunday, and they reciprocate on the 3rd Sunday. This is a fun place to visit and worship.
