Supporting Transition with Older Australians
Trinity Baptist Church
8A Bedford Square, Colonel Light Gardens
12 September 2017 9:00am - 3:30pm
Event details
Ageing involves so many transitions, some positive and eagerly anticipated, others challenging and unwanted, such as deteriorating health and the ability to care for yourself.
Our health, disability and aged care sectors are shifting from institutionally-directed care models to consumer-directed care models, but many older people don’t understand these changes. They present challenges but also opportunities for churches.
Four local and international speakers will discuss effective ways to support older Australians with transition in a consumer-directed care environment.
The cost for this seminar is $25 ($20 concession) and includes lunch and refreshments. This is run by the Australian Faith Community Nurses Association and BaptistCare, but may be useful for Uniting Church groups.
