The Uniting Church is a young church that came into being on 22 June 1977 as a result of the coming together of the Congregational Union in Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia, and the Presbyterian Church of Australia.

Ecumenism - working in partnership with other churches - remains a vital aspect in all of the Church's life and work.
